Chinese Proverb

Red Threads:
When a child is born, an invisible red thread reaches out from the child's spirit and connects to all important people who will enter the child's life. As the child grows, the threads shorten, bringing closer those people who are destined to be together.

Hello From Hong Kong

We had an interesting day of travel to arrive here. It started out with a 2 hour delay in leaving Nashville due to a mechanical issue with our plane. We were scheduled a 3 hour layover in Chicago to connect to our Hong Kong flight and I was starting to worry. We finally arrived in Chicago, ran to the tram to take us to the international terminal. We had to go through security again and TSA were so ugly in Chicago. I got put the whold body scanner twice. In Nashville I was allowed to wear my money belt. In Chicago they took it from me out of my sight then pat me downed so much I was in tears. I could not see our money and I was really upset. We had just a few minutes to find our gate and make our connection. I prayed and prayed that we would make it and our money was intact. Prayers were answered and we made it to the gate in time. Then we had to even have our backpack carryons weighed. I could not believe our bad luck. Then we boarded the flight and we were sitting with a lage Australian man in a three seat row. The flight started out bad as that man said something to Jim about our backpack under the seat in front of him. We were worried it would be an even longer 16 hour flight with  complainer beside us. A few rows ahead of us was a mom and grandmom with twin American babies and one cried half the flight. At least once we were in the air, the Aussie drank red wine and whiskey until he fell asleep. He did not bother us anymore. The Cathay Pacific flight crew were very nice, he had plenty to eat and drink, nd we had personal TV's that played all kinds of movies and TV shows. We even had games to play on the screen. It was a long time to sit, but we made it. It was easy to navigate the airport and get to our hotel for one night. We are at Skycity Marriott. It is a nice hotel and it is decorated for Christmas. We plan to tour the Peak in Hong Kong since our connecting flight to Hunan is not until late Sunday afternoon. We will add photos of the Skycity and the Peak sometime soon. Just wanted to post an update and let fellow families waiting to travel that weighed carryons can happen.

Next Post should be from Hunan.
