Chinese Proverb

Red Threads:
When a child is born, an invisible red thread reaches out from the child's spirit and connects to all important people who will enter the child's life. As the child grows, the threads shorten, bringing closer those people who are destined to be together.

Austin is in our arms forever!!!!!

We arrived at the civil affairs office and waited a long time for Austin. We found out they were stuck in traffic. Around 4 PM local time which was 2 AM at home, they arrived. The caregiver walked in with him. He looked beautiful. They had him dressed in a tradional Chinese New Year oufit. He came right to Mama and did very well with me. Then we tried going to Daddy and Austin cried so much he came back to Mama. On the van ride home, Daddy tried again. Austin sat happily in Daddy's lap. After we headed in the hotel, Austin was happy with both of us. We came in and filled out adoption paperwork. Austin played with toys we gave him. Mama noticed it was time to change his diaper. When we took off the thick outfit, his diaper was so full it had leaked through. Austin cried about being undressed and getting a new diaper. After he had dry clothes on he was good again. He continues to play and smile. We even just went out to dinner at the hotel restaurant to try that out. He sat in the high chair and ate very well. We are so blessed. Things are going better than expected. We pray for continued success. And now for what you all are here to see ... photos.

It is taking too long to load photos. I am going to try to email photos to the blog.

  3. Thank you all very much. Austin slept all night in his crib. We had to wake him so we could feed him and go back to the adoption office. That made him mad. We are so blessed. He is perfect for our family.
